At a very young age Chris' Grandmother and Mother taught him to cook. Little did he know that years of cooking family recipes in their kitchens would become valuable experience he would use later in life.

Chris proudly served in the Army for 20 years, and during one of his deployments one of his cooks was killed during a resupply mission.  As the leader, he began cooking for his Soldiers and continued to do so until another cook was able to get to his team..  What started as a necessary task, became his therapy when he returned home.

Towards the end of his military career, he found himself thinking about the next chapter of his life.  A close friend suggested he go to Culinary School, and Chris’s Dishes came to be.

Living day to day with Combat induced Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) can be challenging, but with the help of his Service Dog, Avery, and living the culinary experience, he has a life with meaning after the military.

Chris orchestrated a wonderful meal at our residence on Fort Knox, KY. The food was perfect. He was very entertaining while preparing the meal as well. We were able to watch him prepare things and he also gave instruction while preparing homemade pasta for one dish. We were thankful he provide such a wonderful service to veterans at no cost. His dedication to fellow vets is as consistent as his drive to maintain his love for cooking!
